Christian Hochstätter to leave as Sports Director

In a surprise announcement, Christian Hochstätter role as Sport Director of Hannover 96 will not be extended past June 30 of this year. There are conflicting reports of whether the club chose not to offer him a extension or whether he pulled out prior to negotiations, however it appears there is no going back on the matter. Dieter Hecking expressed his surprise and disappointment with his decision. After six years in the same position with Borussia Mönchengladbach, he was concerned to be a long term component to the club when joining them. No announcements have been made yet on how the club will treat the transitional period or a possible replacement.
